progress.

Last week Leighton started drinking from a straw, with help from her honey bear (from talk tools). Not only can she drink out of this now, she can suck out of regular straws too.

She's so cute when she drinks because you can see her adorable dimple.

During the break I took time to work on her crib set. Bumper pad is DONE!

I need to find something to make the ruffle stick up better.

We also need to get Daddy to hang up the quilt rack.

Crib skirt here we come, probably during Spring Break.

About This Blog-

This blog is mostly about Leighton, and how she has changed our family. We were blessed with our little Leighton in 2011. We didn't know she had a little something extra before her birth. She was born with an extra 21st chromosome. We didn't know it at the time, but she was going to change our lives as most babies do, for the better. This is just a day to day of what life is like having a daughter, or sibling with Down syndrome. It's truthfully in essence the same, if not better as our life before we had her. We do the same things, but some how she makes us better, and happier people. She has become the center of our family. We heard about a boy in college who also had Trisomy 21 wearing a shirt that said High on Chromosomes, and I decided that's what I want Leighton to feel. So I named her blog after that shirt. I want her to feel an extra chromosome is nothing to be ashamed of (it's something she can't change, and you may not believe it, but I wouldn't want that anyway). It's always going to be a part of her. I want her to be proud of it.
